About the event

Hairat is an idea conceptualized and executed by the Community Code team. Last year, Community Code hosted the second edition of our keystone annual event Ha!rat 2017 with eminent personalities like Sanjay Gadhvi and Harnidh Kaur present at our event along with 8 revered NGO heads at our conference. Ha!rat 2017 was India's first ever NGO Case Conference, which took place in Mumbai and was a huge success with over 100 applicants for a first-time edition of the conference. The case conference aims to provide delegates with a case of problems that each NGO at the conference faces, and they're given 3 hours to prepare a solution deck and present it to the NGO heads itself. The conference was applauded by all of our 15 judges and NGO representatives and appreciated for its unique concept by all our delegates.

A case-competition is new to the Indian-Undergraduate atmosphere. A case-competition is a format where the conference consists of 4-5 Committees representing 4-5 different sectors of NGO's, for example- Rural Development, Health and Society, Nature and Wildlife, etc. Each committee can have a maximum of 6 teams each with 4 delegates per team. Each team is given a usually 5- 15 page case which describes the situation that the NGO of their committee is in and the teams are given 3 hours to develop a solution strategy deck to this problem. The solutions are then present via a presentation to the NGO representatives themselves in the presentation rooms. The delegates are given 15-20 Minutes for presentation and 10 Minutes for Q&A followed.

Working closely with more than 50 social initiative partners, Community Code get's the most suited NGO's for the conference and prepares the cases with the Organizing Committee having experienced and particiapted in Case Competitions abroad as well as having hosted Ha!rat 2017, Community Code aims to bring this blend of case-competitions and Community service and make Ha!rat 2018 bigger than Ha!rat 2017!
